Following on from my first post in this Photo Shoot Guide Series I thought I would address the questions of “How do I book a Photo Shoot and what do I get?”
HOW DO I BOOK A PHOTO SHOOT?
In an ideal world after taking a look around my website and deciding you are interested in discussing your Photo Shoot requirements with me you could fill in a ‘Booking Request Form’ or simply get in touch with me for a no-obligation chat. It’s really important that you feel the photographer you choose to work with feels like the right fit and you don’t just book someone based on price alone. It’s always best to feel like you’ve booked the right person, that you get on, you know what’s included with your Photo Shoot and obviously that you love their work!
During a chat on the phone or over email (depending on what works best for you), I am always happy to discuss what happens on your Photo Shoot, how I will help you prepare yourself and your horse, what’s included with your session fee and what to expect at the viewing and ordering session after the shoot.
Once you have decided that you would like to go ahead with booking a Photo Shoot or purchasing a Gift Voucher for a loved one I will send you a booking form to fill in and sign online (no printers required!) and an invoice for your session fee. We can set a date at this stage or if it’s a gift voucher then a date can be set once your loved one has received their voucher.
Alternatively, if we’ve already met and spoken at some stage and you know you definitely want to book a session you can head to the shop page on my website, pay your session fee online and I will be in touch to organise a date.
WHAT DO I GET WITH IT?
My standard session fees range from £145-£195 with the amount of time I spend with you being the only real variable. I do also offer my B*Spoke Competition Shoots and ‘Minus the Mud’ with Session fees for these starting at £295.
With my standard session fees, you get a ‘Guide to your Photo Shoot’ sent to you which covers all aspects of your Photo Shoot experience and includes a ‘style guide’ to help you with what to wear! It also includes a pre shoot consultation before your Photo Shoot which is usually held over the phone but can be done in person. This is where we get the chance to chat in-depth about your expectations for your Photo Shoot, how your horse is likely to behave, what you’re going to wear, the possible locations and what you would like out of the session print and product-wise.
Once the day of your Photo Shoot arrives, your session fee includes the first 50 miles of my travel to your home, yard or location and a 2-3 hour long Photo Shoot. If you’ve booked a Horse & Rider Photo Shoot you can have up to 3 outfit changes throughout the session and I’m always happy to tailor the shoot to your requirements so if you’d like to do a part Horse & Rider shoot/part Horse ‘At Liberty’ shoot then that’s absolutely fine.
After your Photo Shoot and with your permission I can share some previews from your session on my social media which you are more than welcome to tag, share and enjoy whilst waiting for the processing and editing of your images and your viewing and ordering appointment.
I will go into more detail about the viewing and ordering part of the process in a future blog but your session fee also includes this appointment where I can either travel back to you or we can meet somewhere in Chester if you want to see your images ASAP! During this appointment, you can choose your complimentary 10×8” fine art mounted print as well as deciding what else you would like to do with the images from your Photo Shoot.
I hope that answers the How do I book a Photo Shoot and what do I get with it questions! If you have any other questions please just let me know or see the featured shoots below to get more of an idea about what each shoot type entails.
Until next time,
