I feel like something of a regular these days at Becky’s super yard in Warmingham, Cheshire. Following on from a fantastic shoot with Becky and her 3 exmoors and Magic last year she asked if I could come and do a Horse & Rider Mini Shoot Series with her Welsh section B foal Sulwyn. Becky is such a pleasure to work with and I’m keen for any excuse for some foal cuddles so obviously I was delighted!
The first shoot was back in October 2016 and we did a mix of ‘At Liberty’ and ‘Horse & Rider’ shots throughout the shoot. Sulwyn is a compete heart stealer and was so well behaved throughout the whole shoot! It was easy to forget he was only 6 months old on that shoot as he was so happy to potter down the drive and stand wherever we asked and was only too happy to accept lots of cuddles and kisses! He seemed to particularly enjoy tearing around Becky’s paddocks when we let him loose although he was keen to come back for some more cuddles at any opportunity!
I was very excited at the prospect of seeing him again 6 months later! The shoot coincided nicely with his 1st birthday and again he was a complete superstar! Like with all young animals it’s sometimes hard to notice the incremental changes that happen over a 6 month period but as soon as I looked back on the images from 6 months previously the contrasts were stark!
It was such a joy to put the images side by side and see a true documentation of his progress over the course of the first year of his life! I have a feeling he is going to be one special pony and I can’t wait for the next shoot with him!
