It is always a fantastic day going out with the Cheshire Bloodhounds and the closing meet of the season at the Cheshire Showgrounds on Sunday was no exception! If nothing else I came away from the day with a whole new appreciation for being alive thanks to Charles Finney and his quad driving antics! It was aside from that a hugely fun day and I hope I’m right in assuming that everyone else had a pretty rewarding day out hunting too judging from the somewhat weary but smiling faces back at the Show Grounds at the end of the day!
It was certainly a day for the jumpers with hedges just waiting to be hopped in every direction, plenty of rails and the odd gate just crying out to be jumped. There were plenty of takers too with horses and tiny ponies flying in every direction! Inevitably there was the occasional tumble but that’s all part of the fun? Isn’t it….? Thankfully everyone who did tumble just seemed keen to get a leg back up into the saddle and carry on.
The weather gods were certainly on our side and I for one came home with the first of the summer freckles making an appearance which can only mean that spring is in full swing with summer not far behind! A pretty perfect finish to a season which has been slightly dampened by the rain at times.
The upside to my somewhat death defying quad experience was that I got to plenty of nice hedges and rails to capture the heart of the action! It’s sadly impossible to photograph absolutely everyone but hopefully I’ll have managed to get most people (possibly even a few moments which people may wish I hadn’t – apologies….!) All the images from the day can be found HERE and viewed and or purchased directly from my website. If anyone would like to order in person please feel free to get in touch and if anyone has any specific editing requests such as images in black and white or in colour or less of a stylized edit again please just get in touch.
I very much look forward to beginning of the next season already and hope I will be able to come out a little more often. I am very pleased though that in the meantime I will be at the Cheshire Show again this year on the Bloodhounds patch so please do come and say hello if you’re planning on being there. In the meantime if you would like to book a Spring Portrait Shoot for yourself, your horse or your family please quote ‘The Cheshire Bloodhounds’ for a 20% discount off your session fee. Similarly for anyone about to embark on their Eventing season and would like a unique perspective on their day at a competition please check out the page on my B*Spoke Competition Shoots and enjoy a 20% discount on any bookings.
It’s been a pleasure as always and I would like to say a huge thank you to Charles and Julie and the whole of the Bloodhound team for having me back out, for the quad ‘experience’ and generally being such a warm, friendly and fantastic bunch of people to spend a Sunday with!
Until next time,
Ciara x
