Engagement shoots are such a wonderful time to get to know a couple before it comes to photographing their big day where the last thing they need to be worrying about is how they’re going to feel in front of the camera. So when Claire and Ian booked me last year after meeting me at the Denbigh & Flint County Show to photograph their Wedding this coming summer and I saw their 3 gorgeous little ones peeping out from behind their legs I applied the same logic to them! If you’re to have 2 starring flower girls at the wedding and one show stealing page boy then they absolutely have to be involved in the Engagement shoot! Needless to say it turned into a bit of an epic session!
On an absolutely stunning February afternoon I set off to North Wales with my camera in hand and both my couple and family photographer heads on! It was such a fun shoot and despite little Harry not being completely convinced at times about wanting to have as much fun as his sisters we won him round eventually…or the chickens or lambs did…either way it was great to have the kids involved! They eventually got packed off to the grandparents (for hot chocolates and biscuits I hope) and with the beautiful Welsh hills rolling away behind us and the sun sinking low in the sky I was able to get some couple time with Claire & Ian before we too disappeared inside for some most welcome tea! It may have been beautiful outside but there was certainly a nip to the air!
I am very excited about shooting their Wedding later this year and I think it’s going to be a really special one with their own homemade flower girls and page boy there to celebrate with them! I think the chickens and day old lamb may well be left at home though….!
