Booking a Photo Shoot can be a daunting experience! I completely understand this. Hopefully the FAQ’s below will answer a few of your burning questions but please get in touch with any other questions, for a general chat about booking a shoot or to make your booking.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK?
In order to offer an exceptional service to all of my clients, I offer a limited number of sessions per month. I recommend booking your Photo Shoot at least 6 weeks in advance. If you would like a date on a weekend or during school holidays I recommend 8 weeks in advance but I do my best to accommodate more immediate needs. Please contact me for my availability.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
Ah yes the wonderful British weather…! I always keep an eye on the forecast in the run up to a session and yes I am happy to reschedule if the weather is looking awful.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
The most important thing is to feel comfortable and confident in what you are wearing on your shoot. I generally recommend a couple of different outfit changes throughout your Photo Shoot. We will discuss this in detail during your ‘Pre Shoot Phone Consultation’ and I can make recommendations based on what type of image you’re looking for. Have a look through my Portfolio and on Pinterest and Instagram in the meantime though to get some ideas and inspiration!
WHAT IF MY YARD ISN'T PRETTY?
Most of the time I travel to where the horse is kept ie. their yard or my clients home for the Photo Shoot. I am however more than happy to travel to a specific location such as a forest or a beach for your Photo Shoot. Please don’t worry if you are looking around your yard and feeling uninspired, I can guarantee there will be some great spots to be found!
HOW FAR DO YOU TRAVEL?
I have a 25-100mile radius from Chester in which travel is free depending on your shoot type. Anything over that is charged at 45p/mile. If you are based the other side of the country why not get some friends together so you can split the travel costs and you’ll get a discount on your session fee as well! Please get in touch for more details.
If you are interested in a photo shoot and are based in Ireland please get in touch to register your interest and you will be notified of the next time I’m in Ireland. In this instance travel will be free if you’re within a 75km radius of Cork City, Dublin or Nenagh in Co. Tipperary. Any mileage over the 75km from these locations will be charged at 50c/km.
If you would like for me to come over on a specific date for your Photo Shoot there will be a €140 travel fee added to your session fee, which again can be split between a group. Please get in touch for more details.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY HORSE IS NAUGHTY?
This is such an important aspect to consider when choosing a photographer for your photo shoot. I specialise in Horse photography and have a wealth of experience working with/riding/handling and photographing horses.
I know it is highly unusual for a horse to go through an entire 2 hour photo session with their ears pricked and not putting a hoof out of place. But that’s ok! To be honest it’s what makes each shoot different and challenging (in a good way!)
We will chat about how your horse is likely to behave during your Photo Shoot on the ‘Pre Shoot Phone Consultation’ and if you have any specific concerns we can discuss them.
When it comes to the shoot itself the safety of you and your horse is paramount and I will not ask you to do anything which you are not comfortable with or which feels in any way risky. I allow plenty of time on the shoot specifically so there is no pressure and have many tricks and buckets of patience so do not fear, we will create some beautiful photographs and have a giggle whilst doing so no matter how naughty your horse may decide to be!
HOW MANY PEOPLE & ANIMALS CAN I INCLUDE?
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE PHOTO SHOOT?
Approximately 10 days after your Photo Shoot your images will be ready for your Viewing & Design Appointment! We will arrange a convenient time and date for this appointment after your Photo Shoot. It will happen in the comfort of your own home, either in person or online depending on your shoot type. Once you have decided on your prints and products, each item in your order will be carefully prepared for production and your order delivered to you within 4-6 weeks.

WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH MY SESSION FEE
All my Photo Shoot session fees include a pre-shoot phone consultation to prepare you for your session and answer any questions you may have. They also include the first 25-100 miles of my travel to a location of your choosing and a personal Viewing & Design Appointment after your shoot with a complimentary print to choose.

what about covid?
Covid has without a doubt disrupted things somewhat, however I’m looking forward to getting back to shooting ASAP. All shoots are now conducted in a socially distanced manner with exceptional care taken to minimise all risks. All Session Fees and Gift Vouchers can currently be extended and Photo Shoots can be rearranged at the last minute if anyone begins to feel unwell.
