Lucy & Shaaney // Horse and Rider Portrait Shoot // Delamere Forest // October 2016.
On the first day of Christmas, CHRISTMAS DAY itself I am delighted to announce that Lucy and Shaaney’s portrait shoot from October this year is the first to be featured as part of my ‘Favourite shoots of 2016’ series! This is a series of blogs which I will be rolling out over the next 12 days to celebrate some of the fantastic shoots I’ve had this year. There are so many I wanted to include and it’s been so difficult to narrow them down to just 12! Everyone who gets featured over the next 12 days will receive a complimentary 9×6 fine art print of their choice from their shoot and get their shoot featured on my website for the next year! There is also a very exciting announcement to be made at the end of the series so please stay tuned and enjoy some of my favourite shoots from this year!
Lucy booked her photo shoot with Shaaney way back at the beginning of 2016 and I have to say I was a little surprised when she asked for a October date that far in advance but I always love a good Autumn shoot so in it went into the diary. Upon arriving in Delamere forest to start Lucy’s shoot I was greeted by Marcus the cob all ready with his trap to take me for a spin around the forest in search of the best locations while Lucy rode Shaaney. It certainly made for the best transport whilst on a shoot to date and allowed us to get to some fab spots in the forest!
Shaaney is one of those horses who just loves to pose and as you can see from the photos is a bit of a stunner! Both of these traits do help matters somewhat during a photo shoot! I really couldn’t get over that she is still such a youngster and I’m sure that her and Lucy are going to have such a great future together!
Lucy had a fab selection of outfits including a stunning red ball gown which went really well with the Autumn colours of Delamere forest and a couple of more casual outfits which allowed for a little comfort than sitting up on Shaaney bareback would have been in the dress!
It really was one of those perfect Autumn afternoons and when we emerged from the forest the sun was lovely and low, the sky a gorgeous moody stormy colour and as the wind picked up and started to blow the Autumn leaves around a rainbow appeared as if by magic! You really can’t plan moments like that but just have to be grateful when they do happen when you have a camera in your hands and 2 gorgeous subjects in front of you!
Lucy and Shaaney’s shoot really was a favourite for so many reasons and I look forward to getting an extra print to Lucy of one of her favourites from the shoot in the New Year! For more information please get in touch or visit my INFO pages for some more well… info….!
Please stay tuned for tomorrow’s ’12 Days Blog’ and in the meantime have yourselves a very Merry Christmas!
