Laura & Chris’s Naval Liverpool Wedding // September 2016

Carrying on from last weekend’s blog which featured some of my favourites from Caroline & Craig’s Cotswolds Wedding I thought I would share another of my favourite 2016 Weddings. This time it’s Laura and Chris’s Wedding in Liverpool.

For me it always offers a nice challenge coming back in from the great outdoors and shooting in a cityscape. It was also a nice novelty just being able to roll down the hill and into Liverpool’s city centre as it is a rare occurrence that a job is so close by!

After a really fun engagement shoot earlier in the year at Calderstones park I was really looking forward to shooting Laura and Chris’s Wedding! The day didn’t disappoint in any way whatsoever. The weather was beautiful, the location for Laura and the bridesmaids getting ready couldn’t have been more perfect and love was most definitely in the air!

Laura and the girls had the penthouse suite of Duke Street’s Stay City apartments and the view over Liverpool was stunning. With everything being so close together for me I also had the pleasure of popping over to see Chris and his best man in the morning to see how they were getting on and whether it had sunk in yet that he was getting married TODAY! I found out afterwards that it had sunk in when he saw me rock up! (Anything I can do to help!)

After a bit of a dash around Liverpool I had plenty of time with Laura where the party was in full swing before I headed off to St Nicholas’s church to see the boys again and figure out the best spots for the ceremony.

I absolutely adored the gardens of the church which with it’s strong Naval ties looks out over the Mersey and lies pretty much directly behind the iconic Liver building. I had wanted to go down to street level to get some great shots of the building but it turned out the view from the gardens was even better than from street level!

In true Naval style it was soon off to the Navy barracks where the rum (& other alcoholic beverages!) began to flow and the party really began!

I think it’s safe to say Laura was a very happy bride and definitely made the most of the fantastic band and was without a doubt the last person on it (&obviously the first too!)

It was an absolute pleasure to photograph Laura and Chris’s Wedding and I wish them all the happiness in the world as they embark or at this stage rather carry on with married life!
