As the title suggests this was a shoot packed with both people and animals! It was also all the way back in March which means I am definitely a wee bit behind with my blogs… I always love working with families and animals and this Mother, Daughter & Animals Photo Shoot was no exception.
I first met Nicola quite a few years ago now when I was photographing a competition down at Tushingham Arena. We hit it off straight away chatting about all things Irish and horse related! It has always been a pleasure to photograph Nicola at different events over the past few years and so I was delighted when she booked me at the beginning of the year to come and do a photo shoot with her and her daughter Alannah along with Dylan her adorable pony and Alfie her equally adorable Cockerpoo!
It was a slightly chilly March morning (if you can remember those?!) but lovely and bright with a nice bit of colour to be found on the yard. Dylan was exactly as described by Nicola in the run up to the shoot ‘cute as a button’ and was an absolute superstar to work with. Alfie the cockerpoo was also exceptionally well behaved and seemed quite taken with Dylan (having to stop for the occasional sniff and kiss!)
Nicola and Alannah were great fun to work with and kept their sense of humour when Dylan decided to go from perfect model pony to realising he was in a 10 acre field with knee high grass and wouldn’t life be more fun ‘at liberty’ in a split second….. Luckily he didn’t manage to get ‘at liberty’ and a 5 minute stable break was decided upon to take the excitement down a notch! (That was the only hoof out of place on the whole shoot!)
I hope you enjoy the photos from their shoot below as much as I did taking them and if you are interested in a shoot for yourself and your horse or your family and collection of animals please don’t hesitate to get in touch for a chat or take a look at my website for some more examples of my work.
Until next time,
Ciara x
