Way back in April of this year (although it was the last day of April so I’m almost into May’s shoots!) I spent a wonderful evening on a photo shoot with the gorgeous Jess and her two fabulous eventers Dotty and Kenya.
Jess was a lucky winner of the ‘Portrait Shoot of the Year’ competition that I ran on my facebook page back in February of this year and it was an absolute joy to photograph her and her two horses. We had a really beautiful evening for it and lots of fantastic locations including the Wirral Way which we finished the shoot up on. I particularly like the challenge of finding the best locations when arriving at a new yard or location but it’s always nice when wherever you look locations are just popping out at you! And of course on top of a fab yard to shoot on the Wirral Way never fails to provide gorgeous locations wherever you are on it.
Jess is a keen eventer and her bond with her two horses is clear to see. My favourite images from this photo shoot are the ones I managed to get when Jess forgot entirely about the camera and was just caught up in the moments with her horses. Those are the memories that I love to capture as I know all too well myself how times change, horses end up moving on and those memories sadly begin to fade. I know that every photo and piece of video from my childhood and teenage years spent with my horses become increasingly precious with the passing years. I think this is definitely a factor in what drew me back to a life and a photography career with horses, knowing how precious these relationships are in our lives.
To book a photo shoot to capture precious memories of your own please get in touch or go to my galleries to see more examples of the work I do.
Until next time,
Ciara x
