A Portrait Shoot with Amy & Phoebe

I had the pleasure of paying a visit to Amy and her gorgeous Welsh pony Phoebe last month on the very edge of the Shropshire Hills for an Equine Portrait Shoot. Amy was a lucky prize draw winner from the ‘Portrait Shoot of the Year’ competition that I ran on my facebook page back in February and I was delighted to hear when we first spoke that she never usually wins competitions as it’s always nice to share a bit of the winning streak around!
Phoebe was such a character and had us all giggling throughout the shoot! Despite being young and only just having moved to a new yard she turned out to be quite the poser (in-between a little bit of fidgeting and needing a small bit of reassuring as we ventured into some entirely new territory for her!) She has been quite a project for Amy who bought her as a complete youngster but their bond is unquestionable and I am sure they are going to have a fantastic and fun future ahead of them.
I have to say a thank you also to my assistant for the shoot Laura, (a friend of Amy’s) who went above and beyond with some great dancing, throwing of sand and playing of my ‘horse noise apps’ which not only succeeded in ensuring Phoebe’s ears were decidedly forward but had the added bonus of being quite the entertainment for myself and Amy! I’ve decided every shoot needs a Laura!
